Filming & Privacy Notice

Please note that this is a filmed event. We are filming a factual entertainment series following Alan Carr and his adventure buying a castle, intended for initial exhibition on a Disney+.

Although filming won’t be constant, there is the chance that a film crew may be present during your stay.

Minimum Stay

We operate a minimum 2-night stay per booking.

Deposit/ Cancellation/ Insurance

The full cost of your stay is payable at the time of your booking. We regret that any cancellations made after booking are non-refundable. We recommend that you take out travel insurance for your stay.

All guests are required to pay a refundable £50 cleaning deposit, payable onsite during check-in. This deposit will be returned within 14 days following your stay, provided the accommodation is left clean and tidy with no excessive mess, and all hired items are returned in an undamaged condition.

Non-Transferable Bookings

Bookings are personal to the guest named at the time of booking and are non-transferable. You may not assign, transfer, or otherwise pass on your booking to any other person without our prior written consent. If we agree to a transfer, we may charge a reasonable administration fee. Any booking found to have been transferred without our consent may be cancelled without refund.

Circumstances Beyond Our Control (Force Majeure)

We regret we are unable to offer any refunds, compensation or expenses if your booking is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, such as fire, flood, exceptional weather, or destruction/damage to the property (force majeure).

Age Restrictions

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and guests must be 18 years or older to book. We reserve the right to request ID upon arrival, and any failure to comply with such a request may result in your booking being cancelled without a refund.

Please ensure supervision of children at all times and do not allow access to unauthorised areas.

Liabilities

Please remember there may be hazards on the estate and animals may graze the land. Please ensure children are supervised at all times and do not access restricted areas. Please adhere to all signage/instructions around the site. Please read the health & safety information within your accommodation.

We are not liable for accidents, injuries, or loss of property to the greatest extent permitted by law. Guests must report any faulty or unsafe equipment to us immediately. We reserve the right to access tents for inspection, maintenance, or emergencies.

Guests are responsible for damage caused wilfully, through misuse, or by failing to follow instructions.

Accessibility

Regretfully, Ayton Castle Estate is not an accessible site.

Ground Conditions & Natural Environment

Our glampsite is set within a beautiful natural field environment, so ground conditions can vary and are not always perfectly level. Depending on the season and weather, the ground may include soft or muddy areas, dips, ruts, or small holes created by local wildlife. In dry weather, the ground can also become hard and uneven, with natural cracks, lumps, and changes in texture.

We take reasonable steps to regularly inspect and maintain the site to help ensure it remains safe and enjoyable for guests; however, as a natural outdoor environment, certain conditions are outside of our control. Guests are responsible for taking appropriate care while moving around the site, including wearing suitable footwear and supervising children at all times, to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay.

Please do not feed or interact with ponies, horses, peacocks or other livestock in neighbouring fields.

Number of Guests Per Tent

The maximum number of guests permitted in each of the accommodation must not exceed the number stated when booking. We reserve the right to decline accommodation and to ask any unauthorised person to leave the premises.
Please note – there is a strict maximum capacity of four people per tent.

Pets

Unfortunately, no pets are permitted on the site/in the accommodation.

Day Visitors

We do not allow day visitors.

Group Bookings

Any group wishing to have exclusive use of the site will need to book all ten bell tents. We reserve the right to decline/cancel any such bookings.

Arrival & Departure

Check in is between 3-4pm on the day of arrival. If you need to arrive outside of this time, please make the team aware at the time of booking by emailing: aytoncastleglamping@gmail.com You can contact the site manager if you experience delays on the day.

We reserve the right to re-let your accommodation if not claimed by 6.00pm unless prior arrangements have been made with us.

We kindly ask you to vacate your tent by 11am on the day of departure.

Please could we ask that you leave your accommodation clean and tidy when you leave ensuring all dishes are washed.

Fire & Cooking

Naked flames are strictly prohibited on the site. Disposable BBQs, pizza ovens, fire pits or personal gas equipment are not permitted.

Please do not bring glass to the site.

We ask that the communal kitchen is left tidy and clean for the next person to use. Please wash up any utensils and crockery as you use them.

Smoking

The glamping site is non-smoking. If you wish to smoke, please do so in the designated smoking area and ensure that you dispose of your cigarette ends responsibly.

Fireworks/Chinese Lanterns/Foil Balloons

These are not permitted.

Vehicles

Parking is available a short walk from the glamping site. Vehicles are not permitted on the glamping site itself. Vehicles are left at the owner’s risk.

Bicycles

Guests are welcome to bring bicycles but please ensure these are left secure and locked as we cannot be responsible for damage to theft whilst on the property. Please do not take bicycles inside the accommodation.

Behaviour

We reserve the right to ask any guests to leave in the event of any level of unacceptable behaviour. Guests must respect wildlife, neighbours, other guests, and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

Waste & Recycling

Please leave your rubbish and recycling in the bins provided.

Noise & Music

Please respect the enjoyment of other guests and refrain from making too much noise outside the tents or in the communal stretch tent.

We would appreciate no loud noise or amplified music after 10pm. Please allow other guests to sleep in the morning and keep noise to a minimum until after 8am.

If repeated requests to refrain from making noise are ignored we reserve the right to ask you to leave. No refunds will be made in these circumstances.

Ball Games

We are happy for you to play soft ball games on the open area, but no hard balls are permitted. Please refrain from interfering with other guests’ enjoyment.

Drones

Drones are not permitted.

Damage, Breakages and Lost Keys

Please respect the accommodation by treating it with care. If any accidental damage occurs, please inform us immediately. Accidental damage of a minor nature may not formally be charged for; however, we reserve the right to ask for payment for significant items, damage and breakages.

Please do not bring glass to the site. If, for any reason, there is a glass breakage, please notify us immediately.

Lost keys will be charged at the rate we have to pay to change the locks, which will be necessary for safety reasons.

Complaints

Please let us know immediately if you are unhappy with anything during your stay and we will try to resolve any issues where we are able to.

Bed Linen & Towels

All bed linen is provided. Please note towels are not provided.

Personal Belongings

Please be sure to take all your personal belongings when you leave your accommodation. Management cannot accept responsibility for any items left behind.

Wellness Offering

Complimentary daily use of the sauna and cold shower is available between 4-6pm on a first-comefirst-served basis. There are two social sessions lasting 50 minutes each, with 8 spaces available per hour. Advance booking is essential and can be made via the link in your booking confirmation email.

Other wellness offerings including group movement classes are bookable at an extra charge subject to availability and also on a first-come-first-served basis.

By taking part in our wellness offering, you agree to the Wellness Terms & Conditions.

Photography

For the respect and privacy of other guests, please refrain from taking photographs in the sauna.

General

  • Website descriptions are accurate to the best of our knowledge but cannot form part of the contract. We reserve the right to alter or improve facilities and services without notice.
  • The booking agreement confers the right to occupy the tents only for the agreed period.
  • The tents must be used solely for self-catering accommodation.
  • We reserve the right to cancel all bookings at any time in our absolute discretion.

Validity Clause

If any provision is found to be illegal or void, it will be severed, and the remainder of the Booking Conditions will remain valid.
