Set within 160 acres of Scottish Borders parkland, our luxury bell tents sit in
the grounds of Ayton Castle; a Category A listed baronial mansion, and the
real-life fairytale home of Alan Carr.
Just a scenic 1hr drive from Edinburgh, our spacious 5m bell tents sleep up
to four guests and come fully furnished with comfy beds, warm bedding and
pillows.
By day, unwind with our bookable on-site wellness offerings, sauna and cold water sessions, and guided movement classes. Enjoy serene walks
through the estate’s vast woodland. By night, unwind beneath the wide
Borders skies and enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside.
Beyond the grounds, explore the best of the Borders coastline – wild swim
at Coldingham Bay, wander the harbour town of Eyemouth, or join a
wildlife watching trip off the coast of North Berwick.

When you arrive on-site your tent is fully set-up to your chosen specification, you’ll get:
- From £140 per night, per luxury bell tent
- Fully furnished bell tents – Standard occupancy is two guests, with the option to add up to two extra beds for £10 each
- Bookable complimentary Social Sauna & Cold Water sessions
- Interior & ambient lighting
- Exterior lighting
- Luxury bedding included
- Communal stretch tent for dining, socialising and relaxing
- Communal outdoor self-catering cooking facilities available
- Clean, well-maintained toilet facilities

Important Information

Minimum 2 -night booking.
Please Note – all guests are required to pay a refundable £50 cleaning deposit, payable onsite during check-in. This deposit will be returned within up to 14 days following your stay, provided the accommodation is left clean and tidy, with no excessive mess, and all hired items are returned in an undamaged condition.
Check in is between 3-4pm on the day of arrival, check out is by 11am of day of departure. We reserve the right to re-let your accommodation if not claimed by 6pm unless prior arrangements have been made with us.
Bookings must be made by an adult (18+).
We regret this is not an accessible site.
Please note that this is a filmed event. Although filming won’t be constant, there is the
chance that a film crew may be present during your stay.

You’ll be staying within the stunning grounds of Ayton Castle, a magnificent Category A listed baronial mansion set amongst 160 acres of private Scottish Borders parkland. Perfectly located just an hour from Edinburgh, it’s the ideal base for exploring the region’s beautiful coastline, historic towns and scenic countryside.

Our fully furnished luxury 5m bell tents provide everything you need for a comfortable countryside retreat. Featuring real beds, luxury bedding, lighting and stylish décor, each tent sleeps two as standard, with the option to add up to two extra beds.

Ayton Castle Glamping offers a fantastic range of on-site facilities, including:

What is the minimum night stay?
All glamping tent packages are a minimum 2 nights stay. Check in is at 3-4pm on the day of arrival and check out is by 11am on the day of departure
What are the payment options?
Full payment is required at the time of booking. A refundable £50 security deposit per tent will also be taken and returned after your stay, subject to the accommodation being left in good condition.
Can I bring pets?
Unfortunately dogs are not permitted inside our tents due to potential allergy issues with future guests.
Is it lively or quiet?
Ayton Castle is designed to be a peaceful countryside retreat. Guests can enjoy tranquil woodland surroundings, relax in the communal stretch tent, or unwind with our wellness experiences. Whether you prefer a quiet escape, exploring the estate, or spending time with family and friends, there’s plenty of space to enjoy the atmosphere at your own pace.
What should I bring with me?
That’s ultimately up to you, but generally we would recommend:
- Comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for exploring the estate and surrounding countryside
- Personal toiletries and any essential medications
- Swimwear and flip-flops if you're planning to enjoy the sauna and cold water experiences
- Please bring towels
- Food and drinks if you plan to make use of the self-catering cooking facilities
- A camera or binoculars to make the most of the stunning scenery and local wildlife
What NOT to bring:
- Disposable BBQ's, Pizza Ovens, Fire pits or personal gas equipment are not permitted
- Please do not bring glass to the site
- Drones are not permitted onsite
